Love One For All

I went to the Gay Pride Parade in Toronto, Canada, yesterday. The theme of this year was "We are Unstoppable" A peacock comes strutting down the street in feathered head dress, his cape and corset is all feathers. His leather pants are covered in grommets. Someone jumped the order and was too far ahead of the rest so he had to turn back and let others start before him.

And so it starts with the clowns - who else

Then there were motor cycles all twined with the colors of pride
Right after the motor cycles marched a group that represented the middle east. Their placard proclaimed
"We Will Not Be Silenced" Everyone in this sections carried smaller signs stating the country they personally represented.

Here is a picture of one of the peacocks, must have been this one's brother that dodged out before the parade started because it was so much small than this lovely lady.

Here you see the tall of the matter

and here are the short partners for this get together

The butterfly even came from the parks and their usual sites to bless the parade.
The Celts were there with their bag pipes with the colors of pride twisted around them.
Gay parents proclaiming that a loving same sex parented home isfar better for the children than parents of opposite sex. There are the cross dressers carrying the pride flag.
then came the Queen on a scooter with angel wings in all the colors of pride. Now here are the 'Prime Timers' the men of 40+ who aren't affraid to admit they are gay.
The upshot of the parade was
If We Are United
We will be UNSTOPPABLE
Marry the Person You Love

SAME SEX
SAME LOVE
SAME RITES

Love your neighbour as you would be loved.

Some Marvelous Places I've Been to on the Web

I came across this website where you can shop till you drop. The best part of it is, is that you can own a mall to shop in AND it's totally free to sign up to. There are no letters later asking you to pay to be part of the company. You'll get plenty of letters from them but nothing asking for money. The only time you spend money is when you shop for yourself. Can you believe it. I just love going into it to look around since I can't afford to buy from any of the shops yet. There are shops with software and hardware. There are shops where you can get the most gorgeous jewelry. Do you need those special clothes for the summer, here's the place. I took a quick look through the sports shops and was amazed at the stuff that you can get there. In fact, I think you can even buy a kitchen sink there. Just click on the title of this page and you will find My Power Mall. Seriously that's the name of the website.
If you like chatting I'd recommend Skype, it's an IM that you can talk with your friends and I mean talk. Just think of it -- no more long distant phone bills - wouldn't that be awesome? All you need is a mic $20.00CAD or a headset that starts at about $50.00CAD. I just love it. I've chatted with people from all over the world. I can't wait to get a headset. By the way, this is a totally free sign-up too.
Here's another IM that I'm signed into, it's a 3D IM setup and you get to make yourself look like anything you want. It's called IMVU. Here I've enjoyed chats just for fun.
I've signed up as an affiliate with webbusinesswizard and got some very good advise from JDD's publishing. This also is a free sign-up and you have the choice of buying some more of his writings. Nothing is asked for the free papers and I've enjoyed the advise he has in his papers.
To see any one of the sites just click on the name and you'll be there.

Wasted Things ---- Mainly Money

Why is the cost of gas so high?
Why do retired politicians get so much money?
The first I really don't understand since there are oil wells capped off in Alberta. There shouldn't be a supply-demand imbalance in Canada.
So that leaves the question of the politicians.
Here again I don't understand why someone who did very little but suck up the resources of our country or province should get a retirement income that exceeds most people's 3 to 5 year total income. I know people trying to live on less than $1000/month that has been ruled by these same politicians as a sufficient income for the handicapped.

comments more than welcome

My week with my grandsons

I had a wonderful week with my daughters and grandsons, the son-in-law was there too. Ouch, that sounded bad but you know how it is. Acctually my son-in-law and I get along quite well, we always have. I have a problem with the way he is with the kids but what can I expect when he didn't have a father figure in his life.
This is a picture of my oldest daughter, Caroline and her oldest son,Logan. It's relax time after work. Lucky girl she has her sister living with her to help with the kids and housework.

This is a picture of John and Brandon, my youngest grandson. Incidentally, John is Brandon and Logan's father.
Although my daughter and I butted heads over nothing more than we are too alike to get along all the time.
Logan and Brandon had some wonderful days in the back yard or in mud puddles in the drive way. The drive way is usually off limits for the boys but Karen and I made sure we stood guard against the boys from getting onto the highway or cars coming down the drive and hurting a little body.
One day a family friend stopped by with his dog so the boys had fun throwing a ball for her and basically running from. It was so much fun watching them and trying to get some pictures of them running around.

I have recently joined this marvelous site where you can advertise for free, meet all these wonderful people. You should see it. Just use the url at the top of this page and see for yourself what I'm talking about.

Places I want to see when I get to the British Isles

You know I thought of what I'd do if I had $1000000. I'd thought about all the trivialities like buying houses and cars, etc. Then I decided I really wanted to visit the British Isles so here are the "Top 5" spots I'd visit while I was there.

I would go to Scotland and visit Dundee. While there I'd have lunch on the HMS Frigate that was originally named the Unicorn. The Unicorn is 150 feet long and armed with 46 guns. This is the oldest British built warship afloat and was launched in 1824. Since it was a relatively quiet time in the British history the frigate was 'roofed' and not need for any wars. When it was needed steam had rendered sails next to useless and was taken to Scotland where it is used as a tourist attraction. Dundee was the childhood home of the Queen Mother and the birthplace of Lewis Spence, an author. Spence was the authority of folklore and mythology of Central and South America. I would visit Edinbough since I had relatives living there about the time that my grandfather left Scotland.

I would go to England and visit Nottingham and Sherwood Forest, just because of the reputation from Robin Hood and the sheriff of Nottingham. Is there a better reason. I would go to London and visit the Queen, just because it sounds like a good idea. I really want to see Big Ben. Could it be as big as is reputed.

I would like to visit all of Ireland. And since I need that extra punch of luck I really want to kiss the Blarney Stone and Castle. I was always told that I was full of it anyway.

There are so many places that I want to see in all of the Isles that I think that I'd have to spend about 6 months to do it all.

Generally about me

My greatest accomplishments; I am a mother of 2 girls and grandmother of 2 boys. I met my hubby in 1992 and took a while to realize that he was more than my friend.
A couple of years ago I was hit by a coffee truck while I was crossing at a cross walk and scrambled the few marbles in my head to the point of not being able to concentrate for more than a couple of hours on any one task. Boy, knocking your head on pavement sure does a number to your general perception of things, including the people around you.
I enjoy writing, reading and anything that doesn't include that terrible word that starts with an "E". I find that walking with no purpose has no purpose except letting others see that I know how to walk. In my home I have more things to do besides jumping up and down, scrambling around on the floor, and generally twisting myself into knots hurts too much to try again.
I have just recently joined an art group here in Brampton, Ontario. For those of you that don't know where Brampton is - it's now considered part of the Greater Toronto Area. Going to this art group is my form of exercise. I can kind'a draw and am learning to do shades and colors with colored pencil.
